Course Description
Designed to empower new and veteran professionals alike, IACET’s Foundations of Policy and Compliance workshop leverages best practices and guidelines aligning to IACET’s Standard for Continuing Education and Training to help organizations standardize, monitor, and grow their content development functions. By exploring the concepts of authority, control, and responsibility of the training function, attendees will learn how to promote a culture of accountability. Discussion of centralization of the role and responsibilities of training as a method of empowering the entirety of the organization to operate the highest levels of excellence.

Dr. Tricia Berry is an experienced adult educator and healthcare professional. She has 26 years of experience in adult education. Seventeen of those years are in online education. Trish holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Education with a Specialization in Organizational Leadership from Northcentral University, a Master of Arts in Teaching and Learning from Kaplan University, and Bachelors’ degrees in both Occupational Therapy and Psychology from St. Ambrose University. She is also a Certified Diversity and Inclusion Specialist through the Academy to Innovate Human Resources.
Trish is a member of several professional associations, including the American Association of Adult and Continuing Education (AAACE), Greenleaf Center for Servant Leadership, the International Leadership Association. She is president elect fo AAACE, and serves on the editorial board for the Journal of Continuing Higher Education. She is also an active volunteer in her church and, as time allows, other organizations within her community.

Success in a learning event is dependent on active participation and engagement by the attendee throughout the course. In order to earn a course completion certificate and digital badge for any IACET learning event, attendees are required to fully participate in the training activities, lectures, and discussions. This applies to those attending in-person and remotely. Participation is defined as greater than 90% attendance of the scheduled course time and active engagement verified by the facilitator.
Full refunds are available for cancelations with written notification to info@iacet.org within 20 days of the event. Refunds of 50% of the registration are available within 10 days of the event. No refund is available 5 days prior to the event due to prepaid expenses on behalf of the participant.
