IACET Rings in 2018 by Providing New Learning Opportunities

IACET Opens Nominations for its Competency Based Training Business Advisory Task-force
IACET is looking for training providers that have implemented competency based training (CBT) programs in their organization. Competency based programs do not rely on prescribed clock hours of training to ensure learners achieve objectives. CBT programs employ sound assessment of learner competency against a well defined competency model and train to learner gaps in knowledge, skill or attitudinal disposition.

IACET Announces 2018 Standard for Continuing Education and Training
(Reston, Virginia USA, November 15, 2017) The International Association for Continuing Education and Training (IACET), a global, non-profit leader in continuing education and training standards, announced the approval of its new ANSI/IACET 1-2018 Standard for Continuing Education and Training by the American National Standards Institute’s Board of Standards Review. Following the announcement in the November 10, 2017, issue of the ANSI Standards Action, IACET CEO, Joe McClary said, “ANSI accreditation makes IACET’s training standard one of the best in the world. With an aging workforce and widening skill gaps in the global labor market, following a training standard has never been more important to translate skills from one generation to the next. What Would You Ask Hundreds of Training Providers?
As a part of the annual membership renewal process beginning in November, IACET is going to ask accredited training providers to complete a brief survey on trends in continuing education and training. IACET will compile the survey results into a valuable research report that IACET’s stakeholders can receive as a part of their membership.
Questions that may be in the survey include: is your organization using micro-learning? Has your organization implemented a competency based training program? Does your organization use digital badges to reward learners after an event?
