Kaplan CLO Bror Saxberg to Headline Special IACET/Synapse Webinar
Reston, Virginia -February 20, 2017-- The International Association for Continuing Education and Training (IACET) and Synapse, the cloud-based Learning Design System, are proud to announce that the two organizations have partnered to co-host a Free Webinar: Design Thinking and Learning Advancements, scheduled for Tuesday, March 21, 2017 from 1:00pm - 2:00pm EST.
The webinar will be a premier event showcasing a handful of the learning and training industry’s most influential thought leaders in technology and instructional design.
Moderated by Joe McClary, CEO of IACET, the webinar will present speakers Bror Saxberg, Chief Learning Officer (CLO) of Kaplan, Nick Howe, CLO of Area9 Learning, and host Ryan Austin, CEO of Synapse. Travis Jordan, founder and CEO of Instructional Design Central, will lead the Q&A portion of the webinar.
The event will explore issues facing instructional design today, including how to scale instructional design by harnessing new innovations, manage costs while providing a compelling and personalized experience, and apply learning sciences to solve real-life learning problems.

Description: The learning industry is approaching a similar transition to “User Experience (UX)” with “Learner Experience (LX) Design; one of the fast growing field in education. In this session, we’ll discuss principles of design thinking and how they relate to learning. We’ll also review the current landscape and discover new technological innovations to scale instructional design.
Session 2: Adaptive Learning for Better Outcomes
Speaker: Nick Howe, CLO at Area9 Learning
Description: Is it possible to create a cost-effective online training course, yet give millions of learners a unique, optimized learning experience? Yes, with strong design and an adaptive learning platform.
Session 3: Learning Engineering - The Art of Using Learning Science to Improve Performance
Speaker: Bror Saxberg, CLO at Kaplan
Description: There's much research about how learning can be enhanced by the right kinds of learning experiences. Rather than random walks with technology ("Video is great, right?"), we'll take a closer look at what science and research tells us about how people learn. We'll then turn our focus to learning engineering--the application of learning science at scale.
