Friends of IACET: June 2021 - Reinvigorating IACET's Focus on Research image

Just like obtaining a good education changes lives for the better, research changes education for the better.

For innovative ideas to become reality and have a long-lasting impact on the continuing education and training (CE/T) industry, the wider world, and most importantly, learners, a culture in which research can thrive is essential.

As a not-for-profit American National Standards Institute (ANSI) Accredited Standards Developer (ASD), IACET is dedicated to advancing the global workforce by improving the quality of continuing education and training programs world-wide. As an accrediting body, IACET has developed a rigorous review process that recognizes CE/T education providers who meet the strict ANSI/IACET 2018-1 Continuing Education and Training Standard, founded upon guidelines originally established in 1968, and routinely updated based on current research to ensure the CET Standard addresses the needs of the CE/T industry.

IACET accreditation is the Standard learners seek for quality. One of the ways that organizations stay competitive and responsive to their missions is by applying the outcomes derived from research to the work of the organization. To that end, IACET established the Grover J. Andrews Research Endowment Fund to support graduate students and others who are conducting research studies aimed at refining and strengthening standards of good practice in the CE/T industry. Each project supported by the fund is designed to result in an IACET publication that providers will be able to use to improve their programs.

While it has been some time since IACET has engaged in fundraising activity to support the Grover J. Andrews Endowment Fund, IACET has begun renewing its focus on this activity and is holding its first fundraiser in years, on June 9, 2021.

Hand-in-hand with resurrecting fundraising activity, IACET is also recommitting itself to awarding funds to graduate students and practitioners who are seeking to contribute to the body of knowledge in the CE/T industry. IACET is currently seeking grant applications for 2021 Awards. Contact us today at info@iacet.org to find out how you can apply for an award.
