Helping IACET Improve the CE/T Standard image

What our stakeholders have to say about our Standard (as well as our Accreditation) is critically important. IACET aims to provide a standardized process by which all Continuing Education and Training (CE/T) organizations can reliably deliver quality programs that result in professional recognition, including the continuing education unit (CEU) credit. As stakeholder and industry needs analysis continues to inform us, we want to develop standards to support consumers, employers, government agencies, credentialing associations, licensing bodies and others who rely on a skilled workforce in the business of analyzing, designing, developing, implementing, and evaluating quality learning programs.

The more our Standard(s) becomes a trusted resource, the more responsibility we have to ensure that it serves you. So, your feedback becomes a primary element in our Standards Development procedures.

The Review and Public Comment period is one of the most crucial processes to gather key feedback. As part of its Essential Requirements, the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) mandates that Standards Developing Organizations give the public the opportunity to review and comment on a Draft Standard before it is published.

IACET has convened a Standards Development Committee that has been working diligently for the past nine months to draft the revision to the IACET CE/T Standard. The resulting work will be the 2023 version of the Standard that will impact the application, review, and accreditation processes for our Accredited Providers.

As the committee finalizes the Draft Standard, we are preparing to open our Review and Public Comment period. During this period, you will have the opportunity to review the Draft Standard, give us feedback, and propose changes. We will be asking you to provide information on the following:

  • Standard section/line of proposed change
  • Impact of Standard section to stakeholders
  • Proposed revision to language/text
  • Reason/rationale for proposed revision
  • Impact of proposed revision to stakeholders

Once we have collected the submitted feedback, the Standards Development Committee will discuss and resolve all comments. Once all comments are resolved, we will move forward with the next steps to publish the Standard – including updating the accreditation process to align with the new Standard.

We are expecting to open our Review and Public Comment period in April-May. Please check your inboxes, our website, and social media for updates. We are looking forward to the impact that you will have on the new Standard and expect it to be the best one yet!

Onward and Upward.
