Greetings and Happy May!
Before I begin, I would like to take a moment to acknowledge the life and legacy of Dr. Grover J. Andrews. Dr. Andrews passed away on March 26, 2021 at the age of 91. For those of you who remember, Dr. Andrews was a pinnacle force in the research that led to the development of the CEU and was instrumental in establishing the International Association (Accreditors) for Continuing Education and Training (IACET). Amidst many successes and accolades, he was a known scholar who conducted extensive research in the continuing education and training space and provided leadership for the instructional services division of the Georgia Center Continuing Education and retired in 2001 as interim director of the Georgia Center. We will continue to uphold his legacy and contributions to our industry through our work here at IACET.
We are beginning to reposition ourselves as an authority for research in the continuing education and training space by committing to raising funds for scholarly awards and projects aimed at refining and strengthening standards of good practice. The Grover J Andrews Endowment Fund provides these opportunities for scholars all over the globe! Requests for proposals have been extended and we encourage you to submit. Appropriate research is those that further the mission and vision of IACET, promote new or defining principles relative to continuing education and training, or maintain the industry position of IACET as a leader in the continuing education and training community.
